The Department of Education is committed to collaborative
interaction and collective partnering with other governmental
agencies, community organizations, and pertinent entities
to establish a systematic approach to deliver prevention services
and resources that are available promoting the welfare and
well-being of it student population.
At present, the Department of Education has
formulated the following goals and strategies towards the
implementation of a plan of action and eventual institutionalization
of a comprehensive prevention program.
Program Goal
To prevent and curtail the accretion of alcohol and substance
abuse, teenage pregnancy, suicidal ideation or tendencies
and juvenile delinquency among the student population.
Prevention Strategies
1. establish a comprehensive referral system whereby students
may access and receive assistance to address problematic personal
issues;
2. create school base prevention teams to provide positive
peer mentoring and support for students;
3. integrate and infuse prevention activities into the school
curriculum;
4. develop a prevention network of school community partnerships
to advocate for and support the well-being of all student;
5. conduct an annual evaluation of the program strategies
to determine its efficiency and success a meeting the needs
of all students.

COMPREHENSIVE STUDENT REFERRALA SYSTEM
GOAL
To systematically provide intervention assistance and treatment
services for the student population in order to address
the various social issues that may directly or indirectly
affect their educational, social, and physical well-being.
System Partners
For a referral system to be effective in providing intervention
and treatment service providers must collectively participate.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILIES OF PARTNERS
Educational Service Providers shall be resp9nsible for identifying
students and initiating the referral process upon determining
that there is a need for intervention.
