Parents,

A warm “talofa” from the American Samoa Early Childhood Education Program. As you prepare your child for school for the first time, I would like to introduce you to our program. The education of young children is very important to us. We believe that you, parents, should be well aware and well informed of what the Early Childhood Education Program provides. All children are unique, and with that thought in mind, our entire staff welcomes your family with the hope of making you and your child’s learning experience an exciting and a memorable one.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Milaneta P. Tinitali

Mission: The mission of Early Childhood Education is to act as a change agent; creating opportunities that nurture growth, encourage meaningful life choices through comprehensive child development services, and partnership with the community to support preschool children and families.

Vision: Our Early Childhood Education is that of creating an environment where all preschool children, regardless of race, religion, and ‘ability’, can grow, make choices, and be valued and contributing members to our community.

We believe that each of us want a secure home and family, good health and friends, meaningful work, presence in our community, and valued social roles.

We believe that it is important to recognize and value individual differences and diversity as a means of validating our own uniqueness and affirming the great diversity of the human co mmunity. Our services and supports will valued, be responsive to, and reflective of the great diversity of the communities, individuals, and families we serve.

Within our intent is a deep commitment to improve the quality of our services for our preschool children and families. All that we do should contribute to the strength, independence, community presence, and capacity of each individual.

Our vision is that of supporting preschool children and families within our unique cultural and natural setting. We believe that we have a deep obligation to serve our preschool children and families by sharing our knowledge and experiences of Early Childhood Education with others both individually and within the Head Start/DOE policies.
